Hypnosis

Hypnosis is a natural state of mind we often enter in everyday life and is experienced when our conscious awareness is focused on a task, hobby or activity to such an extent that we are no longer consciously aware of what is happening in our surroundings.

We naturally shift in to this "focused" state because we are completely encapsulated in our inner experience of the moment.

When this highly focused state occurs our subconscious mind takes over the role of external monitoring so we can continue to focus all of our conscious attention on the primary activity that we are experiencing.

Some everyday examples of a naturally occurring trance state are perhaps when our awareness is internalised experiencing the story in a gripping book, or perhaps when we are encapsulated in an interesting film, or when we are highly focused on a task at work, a hobby such as playing a musical instrument, or in deep thought whilst driving or car on a well known route.

Clinical Hypnotherapy

An appropriately trained and skilled hypnotist can creatively guide you in to a natural hypnotic and highly focused state of awareness.

In this highly focused and powerful state of mind you can utilise your own inner resources together with the external suggestions the hypnotist delivers to help you achieve beneficial and therapeutic changes that meets your goal.

When you enter the hypnotic state your unconscious mind is more readily accessible since it has partly taken on a more active role in monitoring your external surroundings, a job normally done by our conscious awareness.

The subconscious mind is a place where great resources are hidden, habitual and autonomic processes are controlled, as well as being the place in our mind where many of our psychological problems are based.

It is estimated that 85% of people will readily respond to clinical hypnotherapy. It may even succeed where other treatment approaches have not produced the desired results.

When carried out by a professionally trained, experienced and skilled hypnotist like myself, the benefits can be genuine, long lasting and often permanent.

Hypnotherapy is completely safe with no harmful side effects apart from a long lasting feeling of relaxation.
